Discussion of Snowpack and Stability: Expect pockets of soft slab to form on lee aspects and terrain features as the day progresses. We could be looking at a pretty major avalanche cycle in the next couple of days as persistent surface hoar layers continue to be skier triggered in the Columbia Mountains. With the addition of up to 30mm of precipitation in the next couple of days there will be a lot of additional stress on the snowpack. Welcome back winter and here comes the POWDER!!!
