    Patrol Level 4

    The Mountain Patrol team member-level 4 administers first aid to injured guests/staff, monitors and maintains the safe conditions of ski runs/trails, assumes a leadership role during day to day operations, avalanche control missions, lift evacuations and search and rescue operations under the supervision of the Patrol Supervisor and the Avalanche Forecaster.

    Responsibilities

    • Administers first aid to injured guests and staff.
    • Transports injured skiers from the mountain to the patient transfer station.
    • Investigates and records accident details according to established procedures including taking statements from witnesses and performing in depth accident investigations.
    • Maintains cleanliness and organization of first aid rooms and of all first aid supplies on the mountain.
    • Recognizes causes of risk, sets up and maintains signage, fencing and boundary markers to minimize skiing hazards.
    • Enforces skier responsibility code, issues warnings to and/or revokes lift passes from reckless or irresponsible skiers.
    • Monitors lift operations to ensure safe conditions on the lifts and around the ski area.
    • Follows established working procedures and ensures safe working conditions for himself/herself and the mountain safety staff.
    • During avalanche control missions, acts as a control route leader as assigned by the avalanche forecaster and follows established protocols and procedures.
    • Has a thorough knowledge of company and department polices as stated in the Emergency Procedures and Safety Program manuals.
    • Assists or leads rescue teams during lift evacuations and search and rescue operations as required.
    • Acts professionally at all time.
    • Interacts positively with guests: Provides accurate information regarding lifts, runs, area facilities/services, operating hours and current events. Handles complaints and resolves situations in a courteous manner.
    • Maintains current and up to date working knowledge of rope handling techniques and all aspects of avalanche rescue techniques.

    • Assumes mentorship role with level 2 and 3 members of the Mountain Patrol team.

    Avalanche Control

    • Participate and facilitate pre-season training i.e. explosives assembly, organized avalanche rescue, route leader training
    • Actively participate as guest forecaster
    • Collect daily weather observations
    • Compile am hazard and risk assessments
    • Compile pm hazard and risk analysis, and infoex submissions
    • Be competent and proficient at assuming the forecaster role in the absence of the forecaster

    Rental/Repairs Supervisor

    The Rental/Repair Supervisor will work under the general direction of the Retail & Rental Manager.     The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. Hours of this position are Monday to Sunday with various start times depending upon hotel occupancy.

    Our winter season kicks off in November with a closing date in April. Our summer season begins in May and runs until October. Start dates vary according to the position applied for, but typically begin one week prior to seasonal operations.

    Q: Does Revelstoke Mountain Resort offer staff accommodation?

    Revelstoke Mountain Resort does not offer staff accommodation at this time. The town of Revelstoke offers a variety of accommodation options. Please make a rental application at Revelstoke Property Services or view private rental listings on The Stoke List classifieds.

    Q: I am not from Canada. What do I need to do to work at Revelstoke Mountain Resort?

    In order to be legally entitled to work in Canada, you will need to provide the following:

    Revelstoke Mountain Resort cannot give letters of offer to foreign workers who require such an offer to apply for their permit to come to Canada. You must apply for a Working Holiday Permit visa. This permit/visa does not require you to have arranged employment before entering Canada.

    Q: Does Revelstoke Mountain Resort sponsor people?

    At present, Revelstoke Mountain Resort does not offer sponsorships. You are required to obtain a work permit yourself for all occupations.
