Enjoying the Success of 5 Years in Operation

Revelstoke Mountain Resort’s 5th Anniversary Season was incredible and the slopes close on a high with memories of many powder days and endless grins to hold onto until winter 2012-13.
Snowfall was of no shortage this season with over 1100cm falling on the Resort and abundant powder days perfectly timed by Mother Nature for our weekend skiers and snowboarders to revel in! New family amenities were well-received with regular use of the Turtle Creek Beginner Area and Tube Park. The new magic carpet lift at the base area provided families and new skiers with the perfect training ground to develop their skills in a safe environment. Attendance in snow school programs flourished with the addition of Kids' ROC and Mountain Child Care services.
The introduction of The Sutton Place Hotel brand at Revelstoke Mountain Resort inspired impressionable enhancements in service including a dedicated concierge desk, wine and cheese arrival reception, and après-ski yoga sessions. It was obvious that guests couldn’t resist the enticing atmosphere of the new outdoor/year-round pool and additional hot tubs, tucked away from the slopes and complete with mountain views and sounds of nature. With the third phase of the hotel opening its doors in December, the Sutton Place Hotel has now expanded its capacity with 209 luxurious suites, ranging from one to three bedrooms.
The 2011-12 winter season at Revelstoke Mountain Resort will be marked down as our most successful season to date with promise of more to come! The Resort saw a dramatic increase in visiting day guests, season pass holders, and media attention – all indicators that we truly have something special here. Valuable customer feedback submitted through our Customer Survey will help shape our future seasons while we hold on to the positive comments that let us know we are on the right track. Some comments that stand out include: “I had no idea Revelstoke was so amazing. The terrain, first class lift system, food, and people were all top notch”, and “RMR has been a pleasure to visit - the great snow and terrain start the experience, but the friendly people generate an amazing atmosphere that ensures I will keep coming back.” One guest was so pleased with his stay that he arranged a special private curling party for the RMR staff to enjoy!
As the season closes, it’s the ear-to-ear grins at the end of the ski day and the excited après-ski chatter that tell the true tale of how successful we really were this winter. A special “Thank You” goes to each and every employee, whose dedication, hard work, and passion have contributed towards our success. An even bigger “THANK YOU” goes out to all our guests who came to experience our resort, whether for the first or the fiftieth time, and who we hope thoroughly enjoyed both the mountain and our hospitality.
