Bordering two National Parks, Mount Revelstoke and Glacier, Selkirk Tangiers contains some of the most famous heli-skiing territory in Canada and the world’s best tree skiing due to specific climatic conditions, species of trees, and heavy reliable snowfall. Selkirk Tangiers boasts over 200,000 hectares (500,000 acres) of terrain offering more than 200 established runs with countless options for exploring abound in this powder playground.
In the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains of Western Canada, snow means powder. Annual accumulations can amount to 7m (23 ft) at the tree line with 9m (30 ft) in the alpine and on the glaciers. Snow starts falling in September, serving up early season turns in December and fresh powder until April. Revelstoke enjoys moderate temperatures throughout the season with an average winter daytime temperature at tree line of -7C (20F).
