Opening Day 2017
November 29 2017
The countdown clock is ticking, and we can't wait to start spinning the lifts to the top to kick off the 2017/18 season. Here's everything you need to know for Day 1.
Terrain & Conditions
We want to make sure you have the best day possible, so here are a couple things to keep in mind about the early season conditions Mother Nature has dealt for us for this year:
- Base depth is 1 metre in the alpine which means skiing will be best up high.
- Downloading will be mandatory from the top of the Revelation Gondola until snow coverage at lower elevations improves.
- RESPECT all closures.
- Tree skiing is strongly discouraged.
- Intermediate and advanced skiing only.
- The terrain park will be open with a limited number of rail features.
In the Village
This is one lineup you don't want to miss. Opening Day is to powder hounds what Christmas day is to kids - it's the moment we've all been waiting for! This year, Stoke FM will be broadcasting live on location, entertaining us with prize giveaways, endless banter, and of course, great tunes. Don't forget to get your caffeine fix at either La Baguette or Rockford (now serving espresso drinks to-go); and keep your eyes peeled for the Red Bull Wings Team handing out FREE merchandise all weekend long, and a Lululemon pop-up shop in the village.
If you want to shred sweet lines instead of lineups, be sure to pick up your pass before Saturday. Guest Services will be open on November 30 from 8am to 7pm, December 1 from 8 am to 8 pm, and on December 2 from 7 am to 4 pm. Guests are also reminded to have their pass on them at all times. Intermittent scanning will be taking place on the mountain all season long.
Once you've maxed out your quads, take a break at Mackenzie Outpost and join the party. Beer gardens, a BBQ, and a live DJ will be set up from 11am - 3pm.
Finally, no ski day is complete without après. Don't miss local band, The Rev, playing from 1-4 pm at the Mackenzie Common Tavern. Revelation Lodge will be open 8 am – 4 pm.
Be sure to send us your opening weekend footage. We want to see what you were up to! You can use our #revelstoked hashtag, tag us @revelstoke on Instagram, Revelstoke Mountain Resort on Facebook, and @revelstokemtn on Twitter.
