Mountain Biking Risk & Safety Information
The information contained in the Mountain Biking Safety and Information is intended to inform you of the risks, dangers and hazards that you may encounter at Revelstoke Mountain Resort and help you manage the risks while enjoying these activities. Whether you are a participant in these activities, a parent or guardian of a minor participant, or a spectator/visitor, please take the time to familiarize yourself with this section of the website.

We offer lift-access downhill bike trails, including both technical and freeride options.
Crashes can happen without warning, especially on your first run. It's important to be aware of your own riding ability, as well as the difficulty and characteristics of the terrain and your equipment. Do not attempt more advanced trails until you have the necessary skills, experience, and gear. To prepare for your visit, please review the Important Information on this page.
FIRST THINGS FIRST
- All guests using the Revelstoke Mountain Resort Bike Park must have a valid pass and a completed waiver.
- Lift-accessed downhill trails are designed for convenience but require at least intermediate to advanced riding skills. Please refer to our Ability Level Guide to help assess your skill level.
- Proper bike sizing and regular maintenance are essential for a safe and comfortable ride. Always ensure your bike is suitable for the terrain.
- Loading bikes onto the gondola can require considerable strength—children may need help. If you're unsure about how to load your bike, ask our team to slow down the gondola, and ask for help.
- Foot traffic is not permitted anywhere within the Revelstoke Mountain Resort Bike Park, with the exception of Stoke Climb'.
- Uphill travel is only allowed on the designated up-track (Stoke Climb). Other areas of the the Revelstoke Bike Park are not maintained or approved for uphill riding.
- Children aged seven and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
- We recommend that children aged eight to 10 be supervised by a responsible individual aged 13 or older. Please note that all trails require intermediate to advanced riding ability.
- Revelstoke Mountain Resort does not provide rider supervision. Children must know and follow the Mountain Biker's Responsibility Code and have the appropriate biking skills, experience, and equipment. Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
- Smoking, and the use of drugs or alcohol, is strictly prohibited within the Revelstoke Mountain Resort Bike Park.
Mountain Biker's Responsibility Code
BE AWARE · RIDE WITH CARE
Mountain biking involves the risk of serious injury or death. Knowledge and caution can reduce the risk. For your safety and the safety of others, please adhere to the code.
Know and follow the code – be safety conscious. It is your responsibility! Park privileges may be revoked for breach of this code.
- Ride in control and within your ability level. You must be able to stop and avoid other people or objects. You must understand bike park signage, trail ratings, and trail progression. Start slow and small. Ride trails and features matching
- Protect yourself. Helmets are mandatory in bike parks and strongly recommended on all other trails. Other protective equipment is strongly recommended.
- Do not ride if your ability or judgment is impaired by drugs, alcohol or fatigue.
- Inspect and maintain your bike or have it checked by a qualified bike mechanic before you ride.
- Obey signs and warnings. Stay on marked trails. Do not cut switchbacks and keep off of closed areas.
- Inspect trails and features. Conditions change constantly on trails and features. Inspect features before use and throughout the day.
- Be lift smart. Make sure you have the physical dexterity, ability, and knowledge to safely load, ride, and unload lifts when riding at lift-access resorts. Ask for assistance with chairlifts and surface lifts if unsure.
- Look out for others. Avoid riders ahead of you. They have the right of way. Yield to other riders when entering a trail.
- Be visible. Do not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.
- Cooperate. If you are involved in or witness a collision or accident, you must identify yourself to the bike patrol, staff member, or local authority.

EQUIPMENT CHECK
Mountain bike trails are physically demanding and tough on both your bike and your body. Before you ride, take the time to inspect your equipment or have it checked by a qualified bike mechanic to ensure everything is in safe working order. Wear the appropriate protective gear for the type of terrain you'll be tackling. This includes a proper helmet, gloves, pads, and sturdy footwear. Being prepared helps prevent injuries and keeps you riding longer.
