Build your backcountry knowledge and avalanche awareness with an AST course at Revelstoke Mountain Resort!
Avalanche Skills Training Level 1
This introductory Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 course is for anyone 15 and over who is interested in educating themselves before going into the backcountry. Basic avalanche phenomena and safe mountain travel are discussed over two days 8am-4pm. Practiced and taught by our AST Trainers on the mountain following the curriculum established by Avalanches Canada. Learn in a small setting with a group of up to 8 people.

AST 1+
This AST 1 course comes with the added bonus of a third day touring in the backcountry! Basic avalanche phenomena and safe mountain travel are taught on-resort using the curriculum established by Avalanches Canada. On day 3, you will put your knowledge to use out in the backcountry.

Note: Backcountry equipment is not included in these rates. You will require a beacon, a probe, and a shovel. Please ensure to have everything in advance of your course date. All program participants will be asked to sign a Release of Liability Waiver prior to the start of the course. Participants under the age of 19 will need to have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver on their behalf. Please ensure ample time and meet on site for 7:45am for a prompt 8am start.
