Stoke Chair Maintenance
UPDATE: Monday, March 9, 2026
A letter from our Vice President of Operations
Revelstoke Mountain Resort is currently experiencing a mechanical issue with the Stoke Chair. During routine maintenance, our team identified a problem with the gearbox. The main replacement components from the United States have arrived. However, the aircraft carrying the remaining parts from Switzerland has been delayed due to international circumstances. Those parts are now expected to arrive Wednesday morning.
Wednesday's forecast calls for a significant storm across the province, which could result in highway closures that will impact transportation timelines. Once all parts arrive on site, our team will begin installation overnight. The repair itself is expected to take approximately 8–14 hours to complete.
At this time, the Stoke Chair will remain out of service through March 8–11. We are currently targeting the afternoon of Thursday, March 12, for a return to service, pending delivery, successful installation and testing.
Safety is always our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these repairs and adjust operations where possible to minimize impacts on the mountain experience. During this period, Ripper Chair hours will be extended from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until the Stoke Chair returns to service. Lift tickets will also be offered at 50% off the standard window rate until full operations resume.
