A Fresh Flow on 5620: Hickory Gets a Rebuild at Revelstoke Mountain Resort
If you’ve ridden 5620 before, you know it’s a long descent packed with flow, fun, and berms, perfect for riders of all levels. This summer, Trail Co inc. has continued their work up the mountain, building on last year’s improvements to the section known as Aspen Glades. The newly revamped midsection of 5620, also known as "Hickory" is accessed via the upper gondola and has been fully rebuilt. It now offers a smoother, faster, and more playful ride, flowing seamlessly into the fan-favorite Aspen Glades.
The new Hickory isn’t a departure from what riders loved; it’s an upgrade. Designed to maximize flow and progression, it sets the tone for one of the most flowy top-to-bottom rides on the mountain.
“We wanted to bring the same energy we had with Aspen Glades last year—something accessible and super fun, but with enough speed and line choice to keep advanced riders stoked.”
What's New on Hickory?
The trail crew focused on reshaping Hickory to improve both ride quality and sustainability:
-
Supportive berms and predictable rollers keep things fast and fun, whether you’re cruising or charging.
-
Cleaner sightlines and improved trail drainage mean fewer surprises and better conditions across the board.
-
Optional doubles and playful side hits add progression-friendly spice for those who want to send it.
The end result? A confidence-inspiring section that transitions naturally into the rebuilt Aspen Glades, offering an incredible combo of berms, rollers, and flowy turns all the way down.
“Now, the mid sections of 5620 feel like one big, continuous rhythm section.”
Why It Matters
Trail 5620 is a signature ride at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Linking the alpine feel of the upper mountain with the big-woods terrain below, it’s the kind of descent that riders talk about long after their trip. With the rebuild of Hickory now feeding into Aspen Glades, the middle section finally matches the quality and flow we are aiming to achieve from RMR’s evolving trail network with the help of Trail Co Inc.
Whether you’re a local ripper or a visiting rider here to tackle the full mountain, this new section will have you grinning all the way to the bottom.
